About Us
Background
Rural Organisation for Social Education (ROSE) is the
brainchild of
Mr. R. Arokia Julian, a teacher in the Govt. High School
in Vadalur, Cuddalore.
Realizing that he had been fortunate to get the kind of
empowering education that is either denied or unavailable to
children in underprivileged communities in rural areas, Mr.
Julian restlessly looked for a way to provide similar
opportunities to others even though he was comfortably
employed. His desire took the shape of Rose Trust in 1994 as
an organization serving poor rural communities.
Work Philosophy
Rose Trust was founded with and continues to run on a very
small budget. However, thanks to its founder, it is big in
aspirations and that big thinking has resulted in several new
areas of work and projects that Rose Trust had never thought
about earlier.
A good recent example is the community based rehabilitation
project for persons with disability that Rose Trust has begun
this year; it took nearly three years of unrelenting hard work
for Rose Trust to be awarded the project grant. But, Rose
Trust never gave up once it realized what a huge difference it
could make to persons with disability in the local
communities.
It is this spirit of discipline, service and being clued in to
the communitys needs that Rose Trust tries to uphold in all
its service endeavours and instill in all its volunteers.
